Air Rider Articles Air Rider HC3 Helmet Headset
(Page 3) There was one concern I encountered in this evaluation and it is somewhat two-sided. The HC3 boom
microphone does not attach to the lower edge of the helmet as with other brands. It is instead molded
directly to the left speaker and extends through or from behind the left cheek pad. On some helmets,
such as the NJC, a small slit must be made in the check pad liner to allow the boom to come through.
However, on the plus side, this design allows the helmet to be set down without danger of damage
to the helmet connection, boom, or mike. Having seen many breakages of clamps on other brands, the
added protection outweighs the small slit that may be necessary.
